Ask Sassy! Asking Sassy Quilting Questions…

Ask Sassy!

Hey guys! Do you have lots of quilting questions you are dying to know the answers to? But…. are afraid to ask? or don’t know who to ask!

Well I am starting a new series of posts called “Ask Sassy!”

You can feel free to ask in the comments or email me if you prefer to be anonymous:)

Remember…There are no dumb questions!!!

I will start this series with a question I was asked just recently by a beginning quilter.

What does WOF mean?

width of fabric

WOF stands for Width Of Fabric. It is often used in measuring and cutting instructions. The width of fabric is measured by exactly how it comes off of the fabric bolt, folded in half with a fold end and a end with the two selvedges. If you cut strips just as it comes off the bolt, from selvedges to the fold, you have cut a strip that is WOF!

HERE is a link to my Sassy Dictionary which explains lots of abbreviations used in quilting.

So there you go! I hope these quilting questions will help beginners and the pros alike. So ask away!
