Welcome to Throwback Thursday!
It’s been a little quite this week because frankly I am being over run by my own quilting projects! Too many starts and no finishes going on over here. Just take a look at the craziness happening in my living room/ kitchen area….
Kitchen table: haven’t seen it…
Project table in living room: piled high…
Sofa table: where is the home decor that used to hang out here…
Counter top: If you look close you can see my lunch bag and the small area for food prep…
Oh, little phone table: a little quilty goodness for you too…
So here is the Throwback part of Thursday….a fall wall hanging I made a couple years ago that we can flash back to:) I used a panel and just added some simple borders to it. Easy and quick, so if you have a panel you don’t know what to do with…remember it doesn’t have to be too complicated!
Oh yeah…some selvedges I’m saving and a bin for my cutting scraps made it over there too:)
And here is another throwback project I have recently dragged out to finish up…
These are panels for making a sewing tote! and little zipper pouches(yikes, first zipper!). Finished the applique like a year ago, just need to quilt the panels here and make the bag/pouches. I think know I am procrastinating on this one!
So….people, this is what a single person with no children’s house looks like when left to their own quilt madness, mine anyway! I am locking myself in this weekend and not coming out until I have some serious finishes and can see at least three of these surfaces again:)
Thanks for looking at my awful, beautiful, quilt mess…
Keeping it Sassy and loving every minute of it, you do the same♥

I’m so glad I’m not the only one invading every space in the house when I’m in “I’ve got to finish this” mode!
Yay! I am not the only person that has allowed quilting to engulf their entire house! I loved seeing these pics. But I too plan on staying focused on finishes this weekend. It will be fun to see how each of us has done.
We can do it!
I’m right there with you. Too many starts. No finishes. However, last night I attached the binding to a quilt and just need to hand stitch it to the other side. So close to a finish I can taste it!
hahaha! I’d show you my madness, but I’m not even sure where I’d start. :) Yours is far more organized than mine! Looking forward to seeing what you’re up to.
I wish I could spread out everywhere, but my OCD husband would have a total fit. Good luck on your finishes!
It’s probably a good thing I live with other people or else my whole house would probably look like that too :D
Me too! Total mess! I spread onto the coffee table and sofa. The other flat surfaces are covered with all kinds of other mess. What happened to : ” flat surfaces are not storage! ” ?

That appliqué is gorgeous! And I for one, love to see other people mess/busy creative spaces. There’s a lot of aspirational home decor online, beautiful homes I love to look at/dream about. I little peek at real life is lovely too!
I am convinced no one lives in those:) but they sure do look nice!
I know just how you feel! My penny sampler is getting big now so in addition to fabric stacks everywhere now I have various parts of my assembled quilt top everywhere… I’m excited to clean up when this one is finally done! I love that sewing tote. Definitely finish it! I did my first zipper a couple of months ago and it really wasn’t that bad. I could probably unearth the tutorial I used if you want the link.
do love your pumpkin hanging and good to see that I am not the only one with a mess although I own up to cleaning up after each sewing session as I sew in the kitchen but the rest of the housr looks like a bomb has hit it sometimes!! as you say great advantage of living on your own, no room for anyone is my space!!!
That’s a good rule Margaret!
I gotta say Paula, I’m a little surprised by this :) but I would feel right at home there! My sewing room looks like a bomb exploded, I do have it contained to one room for now :) Happy sewing this weekend, I hope to be working on some projects too. Love that wall hanging.
Haha, I know! Gotta get it in shape before Thanksgiving:)
You have your work cut out for ya! Cant wait to see what you get finished! Let me know when you finish your Piper quilt…I just finished piecing the back to my Piper quilt and just need to baste, quilt, and bind. This has been hanging out on my staircase way too long! Maybe we can share together…a little bit of motivation. Lol Oh, and I have the same purple notions box!
No doubt a quilter lives in that house! Wow girl you have a lot of things going on at one time! Can’t wait to see some of the finished lovelies. Your pumpkin panel wallhanging is so adorable! I have a sewing room on the second floor so the greatest spread is in my bedrooms and bonus room!
I’m right there with you as well Paula! However, I have managed to keep everything in my room where I do my sewing. Well, except for when I need to bring out the big table. My hubby keeps it stored in the bedroom closet for me and I only bring it out when I’m doing backing. I just got a few small sterilite boxes to put separate projects in that I’ve got going. I kept misplacing parts of my projects! Hope this helps. Thanks for sharing!
your pumpkin hanging is cute, and i love that gone sewing project! looks like your house is exploding with awesomeness if you ask me!
Thank you so much for sharing at Needle and Thread Thursday!

Big mess = big fun. :) That sewing tote will be super cute!
I’ll sleep better tonight knowing that I’m not the only one whose house looks like a quilt factory. Such a happy mess though!
So, I guess this means that if you were to drop in for a visit at my house right now, you’d feel right at home :-) Fortunately, there are two separate counter spaces in my kitchen because I looked at one of them tonight and knew that I couldn’t make dinner there. Too much fabric was in the way. Can’t wait to see the finishes that you got done over the weekend! It looks like quite a few fun projects were just itching to emerge from those work surfaces.
You had me laughing my head off!!! If only you could see what it’s like around here….also single but with a teenager that spends most of his life in his own room I have plenty of space to spread! You should see my bedroom – lots of hand sewing goes on in here. I bet if you and I looked hard enough we could probably find bits of thread in the bathroom!!! Keep it up, nothing like a creative home to make you feel warm and welcome :)
