As we turn the page I realize that 2013 has been amazing and definitely Sassy!
On April 1st, I dove head-first into blogland and published my first post here at The Sassy Quilter. I began by paying homage to my Grandmother and teacher(her nickname was “Sassy”, the original) and my very first quilt that I finished with her six years ago. You can read all about it here in My Quilt Story.
Every day since has been packed full of quilty goodness and I am loving every minute of it! My quilty universe is ever expanding with new things to learn, quilts to make, friends to meet, fabric to buy(of course) and the inspiration from my fellow bloggers is never ending.
Here is a 2013 Sassy review:
My top posts were…
- 1 Sunday Funday Sunshine- this one was a giveaway and Sunshine quilt finish.
- 2 How to make your own Design Wall- for $25 or less!
- 3 Hexagon Pillow- my short-lived dabble in English Paper Piecing
- 4 Snowman Ornaments- quick holiday oraments.
- 5 New Blogger Blog Hop -This post tells you all the nitty gritty about me!
My top 5 visitors were….
2 Kelly @ My Quilt Infatuation

Wrote some free quilt patterns…
Joined a few quilt alongs…
Along the way I finished some quilts and quilty projects…
Wrote a few quilting tutorials…
And last but not least, added a few unquilted tops to my pile…

Happy New Year, Paula!! What an exciting year! I can’t wait to see what you do in 2014. :) Your prism quilt is so beautiful, and I can’t wait to see that chevron quilt finished!
You have had such a busy and productive year! Beautiful quilts and great tutorials! Happy new year Paula! I’m looking forward to another year of sassyness!
Happy New Year Paula and thanks for a great blog! Keep up the good work, stay Sassy and quilt on
Nice Year in Review Paula! I look forward to your new year and getting those quilts quilted. :)
What an amazingly productive year you had! I have to say, Prism is one of my all time faves of 2013. Those colors are divine. I can’t wait to see your makes in 2014 :)
Love the prism QAL and your hexie pillow! I think 2013 (and perhaps 2014) will be the year of the hexie addiction for me!
I love that winter seeds table topper. Somehow I must have missed it when you first posted it. Don’t forget about our glorious time in the top 10 of up and coming blogs on Bloglovin’ too :-) I was just thinking about your design wall tutorial today. I have the foam board in my sewing room; I’ve got to get down to the business of cutting it and clamping on the flannel.
sigh! I could look at everything for hours. Your work is inspirational! Must try something like your winter seeds table topper. Just Beautiful!
You had a great year. I especially love the triangles quilt. I have one on my “to do” list for this year, so thanks for the inspiration :-)
Congrats on all the wonderful accomplishments on your first year of blogging, Paula! You have shared a lot of great projects and tutorials in that time. Looking forward to seeing what you informative and inspirational posts you share with us in 2014!
Being a fairly new quilter, it’s lots of fun seeing all you’ve accomplished last year! Wowser! Your work is beautiful :)
Great work this year!! I hadn’t seen Strawberry Jam before and I think it’s just darling. I’ll definitely keep it in mind when I’m advising beginners. :) It’s been great getting to know you these last few months and I’m sure it’ll continue next year.
