Block 12

Block 12 – Charleston Square

This block is from over at the Virtual Quilting Bee(hosted by AmySmart@Diary of a Quilter) and is created by Katie Blakesley@Swim,Bike,Quilt. I was glad to have one on the easier side this week. Really simple cutting instructions and easy to piece.

We are pretty much caught up with Amy at this point! She just posted Block 13 if you want to get started. Only 3 more to go:) I just can’t wait to get this top together.

I am also right on track with my Star Surround QAL with Melissa@Happy Quilting. This week we built the parts of the surround, excited to put these blocks together this week.

Check out some other awesome quilts in progress with the same QAL. Just give them a click to see what they are up to on their own blogs.

Star Surround Pieced Oops

Melissa@MyFabricRelish, I just love this grey!

I am also loving this blue with the light centers over at Kristel@WIPgirl.

And…I think Sarah@SarahQuilts is sharing her good luck with me! Here is another fabric bundle that I won from Cynthia@CynthiaBrunzDesigns! Thanks for these lovely fabrics:)

  1. What a sweet surprise to see my quilt top on here! Thanks girl!! I am really getting excited about finishing the VQB top. I was even up late last night in bed thinking what fabric I want to use to set and sash it. It’s a rough life….haha! Love what you’ve finished so far!

  2. So many wonderful things on this post! Don’t you just love seeing all those beautiful Star Surround blocks coming together!

  3. Your Charleston Square looks great – I like how you did the orange fabric, with the garlands kind of making a U shape.

Great to see all your finished Star Surround bits! I need to get myself caught up to that point too. I’m kind of at the mid-way point – I need to press everything so that I can sew in those last joining seams.

  4. Congrats on the win, Paula! Thanks for sharing sew much eye candy in this little post. Loving your Charleston Block and I’m looking forward to seeing them all together in a quilt top, too!

  5. So much pretty stuff!! I love your Charleston block, i think it might be my fave so far!

  6. Good luck comes in 3s…. :)

Very pretty block! It’s not going to fit on the plate once it’s together you know.

  7. Looking good! Congrats on the win! :)

  8. Your pieces look fantastic. Great job on getting them all sewn up!! And so fun to highlight others!

  9. Although I’m not making blocks for quilts myself right now, I love reading about people who are doing that. I think your quilt is going to be pretty wonderful. The colorway is very usual.

  10. Really cool! Love the colours.

  11. cant wait to see your blocks together!!

  12. your Star surround is going to be fantastic, and I love that quilt block! I’m just about to press my FQ bundle of Happy Go Lucky myself and start cutting into it!

  13. Gosh, I am so far behind on my VQB blocks! Your block looks fantastic.

  14. I love when you photograph on that cake stand. I have the same one and totally want to use it, but then i’d be a phony copycat because you already did it! so I borrowed your idea and just use some of my other plates and a different orientation instead. thanks for the styling idea!
