This past weekend I made my annual trek to Hampton, Va for the Mid-Atlantic Quilt Festival! I love this quilt show and you know I love to buy fabric from all the vendors:)
Me and my fellow Sassy Quilters from our guild go every year and spend the night so we can take two days to check it all out. Here is some of the girls here in front of our signature wedding ring quilt! Our favorite…
Here are a few of my favorites!
I got to meet one of my bloggy friends, LeeAnna of Not Afraid of Color. She had an entry in the show, too cool! Bikini Body was the title.
Can I just say that I LOVE quilted hair!!! Maybe wearing quilts in our hair will be the next trend:)
I also love quilted flowers.
Lots more modern quilts this year…
This one was titled, No Place Like Om…although not really into Buddhism…I loved the play on theme with this one and obviously the stunning work! This was not a photo. All of the image was created with fabric and thread. The artist was there to share her story and it was very interesting.
This one was so intricate. It looked like a giant book, even the binding of the book was leather….yeah I snuck(word?) in a touch! Bad quilter!
All those straight lines that look like grain are quilting! I loved the step outs in these areas:)
Back of the quilt….even more amazing!
Best of Show selfie;) This is the only pic I had of this one, sorry. I will have to save all my new fabric finds for another post!
If you haven’t yet, don’t forget to enter this weeks giveaway from Fort Worth Fabric Studios HERE!

I believe the artist behind the Oscar quilt is Cathy Wiggins? If so, she came to our guild one month and brought several of her quilting including the quilted leather. It just doesn’t get any cooler than that right?? :)
Looks like good times!
I love a good quilt show. Seeing other’s creative ideas never ceases to amaze me.
Wow! What gorgeous quilts. I could go on and on about each one, but will spare you. :) The quilting on Oscar is amazing.
Whoa. The quilting on that book one just blows my mind. Thanks for sharing. Looks like y’all had lots of fun :)
Wow! Those of some amazing quilts. The back of the dragon quilt is incredible. glad you had a good time at the show :-)
It’s so inspiring to see such beautiful quilts! I love quilt shows, but sometimes I spend way too much time in the vendor’s section!
Looks like a great show! I love quilt shows!
