Finally a Finish!

Craftsy BOM 2012

Finally a finish…..well, I guess its really a flimsy finish or still a WIP since it’s not a quilt until its quilted!!!!

I am still gonna count it though:) I started this quilt in January with my guild and it has been so much fun. In the end I decided to omit four of the blocks…..hence the four solid color blocks in the corners:) A couple I never got to and a couple I just didn’t like the way they turned out(i.e. drunkard’s path blocks, dang curved seams!).

Craftsy BOM 2012

For my fabrics I used Carnaby Street by Pat Bravo for Art Gallery. I just love the bright colors in this line. I also omitted the sashing in this quilt….not sure if I was being lazy, but I really do like the way they all fit together without it.

  1. I thought I recognized some of those blocks. I took that class and finished up the blocks but made them into several smaller quilts to give away. I admit I skipped a few blocks too. It was fun so I encourage others to take that class and play with those techniques too.
Great job getting that top done Paula!

  2. Looks great! I pieced mine along with the class in 2012 and still haven’t assmebled it. Don’t like the fabric as much as your bright pops of colour here!

  3. A top totally counts! Especially one that has been in the works for so long (and looks so spiffy!). :)

  4. What a fun quilt! Its always so nice to finally finish a quilt…BOM…guess I should go finish mine now!!

  7. Turned out great and even with the four solid blocks! Those curves are a challenge without a doubt! I like these with and without sashing; however I think I favor most things without sashing.

Thats the 1st class I ever got from Craftsy and I made an entire quilt out of the Astric block a queen size & it was my 1st ever quilt, it took me a long time to get it done.

  13. This was the first class I ever took at Craftsy. Never made the entire quilt, but have made some of the blocks. Love the colors you chose and how you took care of the missing blocks with solids. Great idea.

  14. Love this Paula – perfect fabric choice! Love Carnaby Street and have my bundle sitting waiting to be sewn into swoon blocks x
